Neurotypical is a term used to describe individuals whose neurological development and functioning are consistent with what society considers typical or standard.
It's often used in contrast with neurodivergent, which refers to individuals with neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Neurotypical people generally do not experience the behavioral, social, and cognitive differences associated with neurodivergence, allowing them to more easily conform to societal expectations regarding communication, learning, and social interactions.
